Effects of a weight management programme on body composition and metabolic parameters in overweight children

Article Abstract:

A study with an aim to help curtail the epidemic of pediatric obesity among children and adolescents is conducted. The results led an array of ailments including diabetes and the results concluded that Bright Bodies weight management programme had beneficial effects on obese children for up to a year.

Overweight in childhood and adolescence

Article Abstract:

The two pediatric age groups important in the development and persistence of overweight are, childhood that is pre-natal period and adolescence. Obesity beginning during early childhood, childhood and adolescence is associated with severe obesity in adults.

Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome in children and adolescents

Article Abstract:

Obesity is the most common cause of insulin resistance in children. The effect of different degrees of obesity in children on the prevalence of the metabolic syndrome and its relationship to insulin resistance is examined.
