Serum proteomics in cancer diagnosis and management

Article Abstract:

High-throughput genomic techniques are used for the better understanding of diseases such as cancer, but they have some limitation in their ability to monitor changes in protein levels, post-transational modifications, or protein-protein interactions. The discovery of new biomarkers, which apply the proteomics techniques, in detecting the surrogates for cancer related diseases, is presented.

Nanotechnology and cancer

Article Abstract:

The article discusses development and applications of several in vitro diagnostic technologies and therapeutic approaches that are being used for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. These methods are found to be based on microfluids and nanotechnology that improve the efficiency and reduce the side-effects related to the disease.

The erbB family: targets for therapeutic development against cancer and therapeutic strategies using monoclonal antibodies and tyrosine kinase inhibitors

Article Abstract:

The current knowledge of the erbB family and its ligands, particularly their roles in signal transduction and the malignant phenotype, is presented. The support for erbB, particularly erbB1, as a critical target for therapeutic development against malignant diseases is provided.
