Essential tremor: it's not simply another part of growing older

Article Abstract:

Hands that tremble may be a result of 'essential tremor,' a movement disorder that afflicts some five million Americans. Most of those with the disorder are 60 years of age or older, although age itself is not the cause. Methods of diagnosing and treating the tremor are discussed

Glaucoma medication may diminish tremor

Article Abstract:

Research found that methazolamide (Neptazane) helps control essential tremor, the most common movement disorder in the US. Sixteen of 28 patients had moderate to marked improvement and five others showed mild improvement on the drug.

Glaucoma: Early detection can minimize vision loss

Article Abstract:

Glaucoma, a result of damage to the optic nerve caused by pressure, can lead to blindness if left untreated. Treatments that effectively slow and even arrest vision loss are suggested.
