When women quit smoking

Article Abstract:

Women have different problems quitting smoking than men, so many programs geared to women have been designed. Weight gain, cited as a fear by many women, usually averages only five pounds and can be avoided. Support networks are good for coping with stress.

The case of the missing mineral

Article Abstract:

About 30% of all adult women and 80% of those who exercise regularly suffer from iron deficiency, but few of them are aware of the problem. A recent pregnancy, eating a low-calorie diet and strenuous exercise increase a woman's risk of being iron deficient.

Women who are bulimic must recognize their symptoms in order to control their illness. Most important in controlling bulimia is receiving emotional support. Women need to take responsible measures such as keeping a log of their diets.
