Europe takes action against AIDS

Article Abstract:

The EC and several international organizations sponsored the 'AIDS and the Workplace' conference in 1990 to address the growing problem of AIDS-infected healthcare workers. One of the most significant results of the conference was a set of recommendations for hand washing, cleaning and decontaminating blood spills and surgical procedures. These recommendations have since become the standard in several European countries.

France takes stress out of shift work

Article Abstract:

French night shift workers experience far better working conditions than those in the US. Currently, almost one in four French workers take part in shift work, against around one in 5 Americans. How to relieve holiday stress

Article Abstract:

People become more prone to stress during the holiday season because of the flurry of activities it brings. To relieve holiday stress, it is important to take occasional breaks from work and avoid overfatigue. Several other stress-reduction techniques can also be adopted, such as engaging in physical activity, prioritizing tasks, being aware of limitations and offering one's services to other people.
