Ex vivo induction and expansion of antigen-specific cytotoxic T cells by HLA-Ig-coated artificial antigen-presenting cells

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates the importance of human leukocyte antigen-immunoglobulin fusion protein-based artificial antigen-presenting cells for reproducible expansion of disease-specific CD8(sup)+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes for adoptive immunotherapy. Results show that artificial antigen-presenting cell induced cultures induce robust antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes.

Conversion of tumor-specific CD4(super.+) T-cell tolerance to T-cell priming through in vivo ligation of CD40

Article Abstract:

The fate of tumor-specific CD4(super.+) T cells has been studied in tumor-bearing recipients after in vivo activation of antigen-presenting cells with CD40 antibodies. Tumor antigen-specific T-cell tolerance limits efficacy of cancer vaccines for therapy and antigen-presenting cells mediate induction of T-call tolerance to self-antigens.

CD[8.sup.+] T cell responses to adeno-associated virus capsid in humans

Article Abstract:

This article discusses a hypothesis of hepatic adeno-associated virus-serotype two (AAV), mediated gene transfer that is sustained in animals but not humans. According to the experiment, a memory-specific CD[8.sup.+] T-cell respondse to AAV capsid in humans is explained.
