Exposure limits for hex chrome focus of industry comments

Article Abstract:

An evaluation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) proposed rule regarding revised permissible exposure limit on hexavalent by other industry organizations is discussed. OSHA intends to reduce exposure limits for hex chrome and for all CrVII compounds in construction shipyards and general industry from 52 to 1 microgram of CrVI per cubic meter of air as an eight-hour time weighted average.

Article Abstract:

The manufacturing industry reported a fatality rate of 3.3 deaths per 100,000 workers in 2001. The safety aspects of this industry and the OSHA violations are presented.
