Family cancer syndromes

Article Abstract:

Although only five percent of cancer victims have the disease because of hereditary factors, it is important for everybody to discuss their family's history of cancer to assess their own risk of the disease. Three types of family cancer syndromes include hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer, and hereditary breast-ovarian cancer syndromes 1 and 2.

Family medical tree: charting your health heritage can be valuable

Article Abstract:

People can inherit genetic tendencies toward certain diseases, including asthma, breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, colon cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and ovarian cancer. Therefore, it becomes important to compile a medical family tree of close relatives.
