Article Abstract:

A careful investigation of the professional conduct case files of the UKCC has resulted in a study entitled 'Issues Arising From Professional Conduct Complaints.' This research concludes that strong management would have been sufficient to eliminate several common nurse errors. Furthermore, efficient management would have prevented many drug and alcohol cases which were referred to the UKCC. Better employment policies would serve to identify health difficulties in nurses at an early stage, and nurses would benefit from having access to occupational health facilities.
