The withdrawal of all the assets from Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. by the Association of Medical Research Charities following the refusal of the bank to take a tough line against the violent animal-rights protestors is the focus of the article. The bank refused to handle shares with the Cambridge-based pre-clinical testing company Huntingdon Life Science after having received threats from vivisectionists.

The minor H antigen has been shown to be responsible for the way T lymphocytes repel leukemia. Lymphocyte infusion treatment with this antigen could mean bone marrow transplants might no longer be necessary.
