Genomic signatures to guide the use of chemotherapeutics

Article Abstract:

In vitro drug response date was combined with microarray gene expression data to develop models that could potentially predict responses to different cytotoxic chemotherapeutic drugs. The chemotherapy responses signatures were integrated with signature of oncogenic pathway deregulation to identify new therapeutic strategies that use all available drugs.

Suramin inhibits death receptor-induced apoptosis in vitro and fulminant apoptotic liver damage in mice

Article Abstract:

Suramin, a polysulforated derivative of urea, is widely used as a chemotherapeutic drug and to treat infections. It is also a helpful agent to bridge periods after apoptotic acute liver failure caused by fulminant viral hepatitis or toxic liver damage.
