Get with the Net

Article Abstract:

The Internet is likely to be a significant and far-reaching tool in dental practices of the future. Today, the worldwide computer network is an inexpensive and effective way to market dental services. It may soon provide electronic insurance claim processing, billing, appointment confirmation and other routine communication. Dentists may be able to purchase supplies, take continuing education classes, and consult with specialists over the network. Internet security measures under development may allow doctors and insurers to share patient records in a "virtual group practice."
