Article Abstract:

The recently published Health Protection Agency figures has prompted the infection control nurses to demand for extra beds in the isolation wards for a better treatment of the healthcare-associated infections (HCAI). The authorities have taken various steps and measures to improve the situation, as the deficiency of beds ultimately leads to high infection rates in the hospitals, especially in the small acute trusts.
