Have we failed overseas nurses?

Article Abstract:

The open-door policy that allowed overseas nurses to work in the UK was partially closed, leaving many nurses with an uncertain future. Nurses from outside the European Union had provided a lifeline for the NHS by helping boost staff numbers as well as bringing experience and skills, however, the rules are being changed as UK graduates cannot find work and vacancy rates are falling fast.

Heart failure nurses and the voluntary sector

Article Abstract:

British Heart Foundation (BHF), a charity provides expert care for patients with heart disease, together with education for health professionals about the condition. The BHF nurses would become employed directly by the charity rather than be funded through their present primary by the Department of Health.

Health tourism: the dilemma for nurses

Article Abstract:

The government is planning to tighten regulations for overseas visitors receiving National Health Scheme (NHS) treatment. The entitlement to NHS treatment is being defined, so as to avoid any ambiguity in selecting the eligible patients.
