Healthful holidays: celebrate the season without putting on pounds

Article Abstract:

The Holiday season is not a good time to start a weight-loss program, but it is possible to keep off additional pounds by following a few tips. They include eating moderate portions, avoiding fat-laden dishes and getting plenty of exercise. A reduced-fat pumpkin pie recipe is presented.

Food manufacturers are launching new reduced-fat snacks to meet growing consumer demand. Reduced-fat snacks are most effective for people who want to eat less fat. For people who want to lose weight, fruits and vegetables are a better alternative to reduced-fat snacks.

Repeatedly gaining or losing weight adversely affects the body. Changes in metabolism can cause weight gain. Eating a low-fat diet and exercising may alleviate the health problems associated with repeated weight fluctuations.
