Identification of PDGFR as a receptor for AAV-5 transduction

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate a relationship between platelet-derived growth factor receptor-alpha-polypeptide and adeno-associated virus type 5 transduction. Data indicate that the viral tropism in vivo is correlated with the expression pattern of the polypeptide as well.

Tissue-specific consequences of the anti-adenoviral immune response: implications for cardiac transplants

Article Abstract:

Adenovirus did not cause inflammation in heart tissue transplanted into mice when the virus was used as a genetic vector. The gene for beta-galactosidase continued to produce the protein even though the mice's immune system reacted to the vector.

An association between viral genes and human oncogenic alterations: the adenovirus E1A induces the Ewing tumor fusion transcript EWS-FLI1

Article Abstract:

Some viruses may be able to cause chromosomal translocations, which could in turn cause cancer. The human adenovirus can cause a chromosomal translocation identical to the one found in patients with Ewing's sarcoma.
