If pigs could fly

Article Abstract:

The UK government has decided not to allow the trials of pig organs into humans because of fears of passing on infections and retroviruses from the host to the human patient. Evidence from experiments using cells from baboons showed that retroviruses passed into human cells and it is feared that new human diseases, such as AIDS, which is thought to have originated in monkeys, may be created. Companies currently investing in research into animal transplants stand to make billions of pounds if it does eventually gain approval.
