Draft guidance from NICE outlines initiatives that are needed to tackle the problem of skin cancer including new developments in the provision of nursing care. Some of the key recommendations of the draft NICE guidelines include development in the provision of information, patient involvement in treatment decisions, and inviting friends to consultations.

Guidelines on the provision of nutritional support in adults

Article Abstract:

There were concern for some time that the nutritional needs of patients are not being met and malnutrition can be both a cause and consequence of ill health. NICE's new guidelines recommend that every hospital should have a nutritional nurse specialist and that all people admitted to hospital should be routinely screened for nutritional support.
