Increasing staff awareness of respiratory rate significance

Article Abstract:

Respiratory rate is a significant predictor of critical illness and an important part of early-warning scoring. After an audit of patient records revealed a low incidence of respiratory-rate recording, a hospital-wide education programme was set up to raise awareness and improve critical care skills among ward staff.

Much more research is needed before we write off community matrons

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of community matrons or case managers who generally look after patients who have been diagnosed with long-term ailments has been discussed and it has been found that their requirement is still a debatable issue.
