Predicting vaginal birth after cesarean delivery: a review of prognostic factors and screening tools

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to identify the prognostic factors and screening tools associated with vaginal delivery and predicting vaginal birth after cesarean delivery. It reveals that in spite of having identified two validated screening tools, high quality data and research is required to conduct further research on the topic and developing accurate and user friendly screening tools.

The impact of maternal obesity and weight gain on vaginal birth after cesarean section success

Article Abstract:

The purpose of study was to determine the impact of maternal pregravid body mass index (BMI) and weight gain between pregnancies on vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC) success in women after a single low transverse cesarean delivery. Increasing pregravid BMI and weight gain between pregnancies reduce VBAC success after a single low transverse cesarean delivery.

Frequency and predictors for postpartum fecal incontinence

Article Abstract:

About one-third of women may develop fecal incontinence after childbirth, according to a study of 50 women. An injury to the perineum was a risk factor for fecal incontinence but infant birth weight or the number of pregnancies were not. The perineum is the area between the vagina and rectum.
