Inflammation increases vulnerability to hypoxia in newborn piglets: Effect of reoxygenation with 21% and 100% O2

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to assess whether inflammation increases vulnerability to hypoxia, and influences the effect of 100% O2 and 21% O2 reoxygenation on brain. Endotoxin and hypoxia acted synergistically in including metabolic acidosis and 21% O2 seemed as effective as 100% O2 in the presence of experimental inflammation for reoxygenating piglets.

Previous maternal infection with Toxoplasma gondii and the risk of fetal death

Article Abstract:

The association between previous maternal Toxoplasma gondii (T gondii) infection and risk of fetal death is examined. Findings report no association between increased risks of fetal death at less than 20 weeks of gestation in women with previous maternal T gondii infection.
