Introducing a hand-held urinal service in secondary care

Article Abstract:

Chorley & South Ribble Continence Team believed that hand-held urinals, both male and female, offer an effective alternative method of continence management for many patients in acute and primary care. The issues encountered in the introduction of re-usable, hand-held urinals are discussed.

Implementing guidance on pelvic floor exercises

Pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation is an important component of treatment for managing stress and mixed urinary incontinence is suggested. It recommends that women should have a digital examination of the pelvic floor to assess muscle contraction.
