Is managed care good for women's health?

Managed care can be adequate, but women must be aggressive about getting good care. Health maintenance organizations often do not provide all services a woman might reasonably expect. Reproductive health, breast cancer and other topics are discussed.

One trend in women's health care in the 1990s is the early detection of cancer. New methods of sun protection, emphasis on light exercise and sensible weight reduction goals and use of diet in disease prevention or therapy are other trends.
