Is now the time to produce an in-office CAD/CAM device?

Article Abstract:

The details of in-office computer aided design/computer aided manufacture (CAD/CAM) devices, that allows fabrication of tooth-colored inlays and onlays, crowns and veneers in one appointment, are presented. CAD/CAM devices are best suited to dentists who accomplish many single-tooth or single quadrant restorations. The advantages and disadvantages of CAD/CAM are also presented.

Continuing dental education requirements for relicensure in the United States

Article Abstract:

Mandatory continuing education (CE) is the requirement for relicensure of dentists in the United States. Computer based methods are adopted for earning CE credits. A survey is conducted to evaluate how the computer-based CE methods are regulated. The statistical data relating to number of CE hours required by jurisdiction is also provided in this context.

Filmless imaging: the uses of digital radiography in dental practice

Article Abstract:

An overview of digital radiography and image processing that improves the diagnostic quality of radiographic information is presented. The advantages and the limitations of these technologies are discussed to help the dentists to understand the role of technology in their practice.
