Is there a cerebral dominance for consciousness?

Article Abstract:

Research conducted on the relationship of cerebral dominance on speech, consciousness and other mental functions are evaluated. Primary studies were performed involving intracarotid sodium amytal injections. Later research sought to establish the relationship of cerebral lateralization and disorders of the consciousness. Results indicate that intracarotid studies are insufficient in determining the relationship betweencerebral dominance and consciousness.
