Talking trash: the economic and environmental issues of landfills

Article Abstract:

The new, larger Subtitle D landfills, including 'megafills,' are discussed, with a focus on economic and environmental issues. Topics include environmental health issues associated with old-style landfills, safety improvements in newer landfills, economic and environmental tradeoffs with newer landfills, interstate issues, and the new technology of bioreactor landfills.
