Johnny Stewart relied on rigorous exercise routines to increase his muscle mass and give it definition without having to rely on steroids as some bodybuilders do. His workout is based on using heavy weights until he is not exerting with the weight anymore, and only then will he increase weight.

Significant gains in muscle size and strength may be achieved by incorporating the Weider Super-Speed Principle into one's workout. The principle entails doing as many repetitions as possible within a given period of time for a single set. Such a method, however, is not for beginners.
