Kids R us

Article Abstract:

Safety and health matters arise in schools but are often not dealt with satisfactorily due to a lack of money or the will to change. The Body Action Campaign has had little interest from schools yet children are often seated on inappropriate chairs. Poor seating as a child may cause life-long back pain. The constant use of the computer, by some children often makes them solitary figures and their diet also can suffer. The Office of Standards in Education have recognized the importance of health and safety for children and are obliged to report any shortcomings in their inspections.

Animal tales

Article Abstract:

Animals are unpredictable, and this means that there are always risks associated with working with animals. Risk assessment can go some way towards protecting those who work with animals, but it is vital to always remain aware of potential danger. Vets report that they often face badly restrained or aggressive animals, and resent the fact that many people seem to think that being bitten or injured in some other way is merely part of a vet's job. Agricultural workers and zoo-keepers can also be exposed to dangerous situations.
