Leiomyosarcoma in a premenopausal patient after uterine artery embolization

Article Abstract:

A lack of clinical response to a technically successful procedure should alert caregivers that further evaluation and/or therapy is needed. The case of a premenopausal 45-year-old woman who underwent uterine artery embolization for suspected symptomatic leiomyomata, but who later became symptomatic with recurrent disease, is presented.

Small bowel obstruction due to adhesive disease observed after uterine fibroid embolization

Article Abstract:

An unusual case of a delayed complete small bowel obstruction caused by adhesions observed after uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is presented. It is suggested that in patients presenting with abdominal pain who have previously undergone UFE, small bowel obstruction should have included in the differential diagnosis.

Gluteal necrotizing myofascitis: an unusual delayed complication of abdominal sacrocolpopexy

Doctors describe the case of a 51-year-old woman who developed a muscle infection called myofascitis as a complication of an operation to treat uterine prolapse. The operation involves placing mesh in the abdomen, which in this case became infected.
