Twenty-two men, ranging in age from 25 to 74, briefly share their memories of their heart attacks. Many of them denied that it was happening even as it happened, refusing to believe that one so young could suffer from one. High stress jobs, excessive smoking and poor diets are frequently cited as causes.

A physician describes his heart attack and how the operating cardiologist ruptured his coronary artery. Advice on questions to ask one's physician when one faces surgery is given, and the importance of knowing one's nurses is stressed. Avoiding infections is also discussed.
