Limitations of screening tests for the detection of chlamydia trachomatis in asymptomatic adolescent and young adult women

The performance of different test types, specimen sources, and collection methods for asymptomatic screening of genital chlamydia trachomatis infection in young women are examined. Usefulness of quantitative polymerase chain reaction in amniotic fluid as early prognostic marker of fetal infection with Toxoplasma gondii

Article Abstract:

The quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis of Toxoplasma gondii in amniotic fluid (AF) is regarded as a potential prenatal biologic marker of the congenital toxoplasmosis. The real-time quantitative PCR is applied to AF in case of fetal infection with cytomegalovirus (CMV) or T gondii that represents the major sources of congenital infections.

Leukemia inhibitory factor and hameobox a10 gene expression in an ectopic pregnancy model for implantation

Article Abstract:

The expression of leukemia inhibitory factor and homeobox a10 in endometrium that is derived from patients with concurrent ectopic pregnancies compared with nonpregnant luteal phase endametrium from the same patients is investigated. Leukemia inhibitory factor appears to be regulated by human chorionic gonadotropin or other factors of pregnancy.
