Linking calcineurin activity to leukemogenesis
Article Abstract:
A study results reveal that sustained activation of the calcium-dependent phosphatase calcineurin contributes to the pathogenesis of acute T lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), and the survival of animal could be improved by inhibition of calcineurin which leads to rapid clearance of leukemic cells.

Prevention of acute and chronic allograft rejection with [CD4.sup.+][CD25.sup.+][Foxp3.sup.+] regulatory T lymphocytes
Article Abstract:
The significance of the [CD4.sup.+][CD25.sup.+][Foxp3.sup.+] regulatory T lymphocytes in preventing acute and chronic allograft rejection is discussed. The results prove that the T cells can be widely used to induce lifelong immunological tolerance to allogeneic transplants.

Type 1 diabetes: focus on prevention
Article Abstract:
Two new approaches that prevent disease in a model of type 1 diabetes are presented. One approach is to block the activation receptor on disease-conferring T cells, and the other deploys suppressor T cells renowned for their ability to inhibit the local immune response.
