Making international investments: is it right for you?

Article Abstract:

International investments can give individual investors good gains, but they also hold significant risks. Companies taking part in emerging nations' infrastructure development offer the possibility of strong growth. The risks inherent in international investments include those resulting from currency rate fluctuations, custody arrangements, and government actions. Mutual funds are perhaps the safest way for individuals to invest in overseas markets.

Using family partnership strategies for asset protection

Article Abstract:

The primary goal of estate planning is tax liability reduction. Possible conflicts of interest between loss of property control and tax benefits are avoided through the use of a family limited partnership. Gains and losses are not recognized when property transfers are made, and an initial business purpose must be shown. Asset protection from future claims is possible, as is income shifting among family members and estate tax reduction.

How to choose the mutual funds that are right for you

Article Abstract:

Mutual funds should be evaluated according to a number of criteria, including the objective of the fund, its past performance, and its cost-service arrangement. For example, some mutual funds aim to increase current income, while others are managed to produce capital growth. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of using a fee-based financial advisor are discussed.
