Potential for mitigation of emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O) from The Netherlands (1980-2015)

Article Abstract:

Studies show that the National Environmental Policy Plan 2 of The Netherlands will not stabilize nitrous oxide emissions at 1990 levels after the year 2000. Although the plan decreases agricultural and other emissions, those from industry, energy and waste processes will increase. New technologies and/or reductions in transportation and fertilizer and energy usage will become necessary for substantial emissions reduction.
