"Me-too" drugs or medical devices must generally be better or cheaper than the original first drug or device in that category. For this reason, they can often contribute to medical progress rather than simply being a carbon copy of an existing drug or device. But doctors must play their part by prescribing the cheapest drug or medical device that will benefit the patient.

The most common noninvasive tests for diagnosing coronary artery disease are exercise electrocardiography, radiionuclide perfusion imaging, and stress echocardiography. An exercise electrocardiogram should be used first in most patients.
