Meeting a patient's holistic needs takes time

Article Abstract:

Nurses are taught the necessity of good holistic and individualized care of their patients, listening to their problems, learning from them through chatting, and picking up on unspoken worries and concerns. But other clinical priorities usually do not allow them to spend time with the patients as the nurse-to-patient ratios and staff shortages do not take into consideration the need for individualized care.

Life experience can be used to aid nursing practice

Article Abstract:

Various incidents occurring in one's life can help a nurse to learn a lot many things, which can be then extremely helpful in delivering a better care and understanding to the patients. It is believed that though a good clinical knowledge is very much essential for becoming a good nurse, a pinch of experiences and communication with a variety of people just makes the perfect combination.
