NMC agrees to look at diversity: project launched to attract minority ethnic nurses

Article Abstract:

The follow-up of talks with Unison led the NMC to analyze the reason for a disproportionate number of complaints against African American and minority ethnic nurses. The placement initiative of the project called 'Candles' (Campaign to Attract Nurses/ Midwives from Diverse Local Ethnic Groups in Slough) is to encourage recruitment and targets girls from a local school attended by Asian youngsters.
