Nice ad, shame about the reality

Article Abstract:

The Department of Health in the UK launched a recruitment and retention drive costing 32 million pounds sterling in February 1997 to attract more people into nursing. The advertising campaign is costing one million pounds, 1,300 student places will be available at a cost of 20.5 million pounds, and further training for specialist nurses will cost 6.8 million. Unions complain that neither the ethnic press nor men's magazines are being used for advertisements, while others argue that the money would be better spent ensuring good working conditions, pay and increased student bursaries.
