Uncommon women

Article Abstract:

Nurses were among the women peace protestors at Greenham Common Air Force Base, England, the remainder of whom left their camp at the end of December 1999. The women included an ex-midwife, now aged over 70, Sarah Hipperson, who was among the final few. According to a director of Medact, formerly Medical Campaign Against Nuclear Weapons, Gill Reeve, nurses made a great contribution to the camp with their professional skills including communication skills.
