Nurses fight their corner

Article Abstract:

UK mental health nurses gathered at a conference organised by the South Downs Health NHS Trust. Conference organisers had two aims for the event. They wanted to celebrate mental health nursing at a time when morale may be low. They also wanted to examine more fully the training concerns which mental health nurses had raised in a research report. Nurses who were interviewed for the report felt they needed more training on new therapies and were anxious about working as part of a community mental health team. Conference delegates aired their feelings at meetings and in a survey.
