Nurses may be forced to bear the brunt of the AfC funding shortfall

Article Abstract:

Nurses and other Healthcare Professionals Pay Review Body, the independent body recommends that the pay had increased more than expected under Agenda for Change (AfC) and that staff also enjoyed more holidays a reduction in working hours. However, the UK government wants to limit 2006's pay rise to two percent as nurses have benefited more from Agenda for Change than anticipated.

Male nurse takes NHS pension scheme to court

Article Abstract:

A male nurse has filed a sex discrimination lawsuit with the Appeal Court against the NHS Occupational Pension Scheme. The nurse, William Quirk, claims that he ended up with 40,000 pounds less than what his female counterparts received under the pension scheme's rules.

Have nurses ever been paid their due?
