One year after launch, drug safety board is dubbed a failure

Article Abstract:

A new drug safety board at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is failing in its declared goal of increasing openness and transparency at the agency. The drug safety board has 15 voting members, 13 of whom are senior scientific managers at the FDA, while the other 2 are staff physicians at the National Institutes of Health and Department of Veteran Affairs.

US senate votes to ban pesticide tests on humans

Article Abstract:

The United States Senate voted for a one-year moratorium on the conduct and use of studies that expose participants to pesticides. Under this moratorium, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) would be prohibited from conducting human exposure tests or using data from tests conducted by third parties in its pesticide risk assessments.
