Does cervical cerclage prevent preterm delivery in patients with a short cervix?

Article Abstract:

Cerclage does not reduce the risk of premature birth in women with a short cervix but it may increase the risk of premature rupture of membranes. A cerclage is a loop or band of suture that is placed around the cervix so it won't open prematurely.

Meconium aspiration syndrome in term neonates with normal acid-base status at delivery: is it different?

Article Abstract:

Many newborn babies with meconium aspiration syndrome do not have acidemia, which means that the syndrome was not caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain. Meconium aspiration syndrome occurs when the baby aspirates meconium during delivery.
