Perceptions of the role of the hospital palliative care team

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to understand staff perceptions of the role of the hospital palliative care team and to identify knowledge and confidence levels of general staff caring for patients with palliative care needs. The findings have considerable implications for palliative care services including the requirement of staff that is clear about how to obtain advice and what support is available for cancer patients.

Trust debts put PFI plans in crisis

Article Abstract:

The last-minute review of plans to redevelop a London trust and a private finance initiative (PFI) deal being offered is discussed. Since it began, the PFI scheme was dogged by financial problems with number of trust unable to pay off their debts.
