Pertussis-not just for kids

Article Abstract:

The number of cases of pertussis reported annually in the United States has increased by a factor of six since 1980, despite rates of immunization for pertussis of more than 80 percent among young children. Residual immunity from prior vaccination might modify the clinical presentation of pertussis in adolescents and adults and make the diagnosis even more difficult.
