Physician leaders need management training

Article Abstract:

Physician leaders and managers now need advanced management training to successfully lead managed care groups and supervise hospitals and other medical organizations. Since managed care and other changes have made the business aspects of the health care industry more complex, physician leaders need to acquire new skills through graduate education and experience. Article Abstract:

They argue that doctors who make mistakes resulting in patient deaths should be handled via licensing boards or malpractice suits. Prosecutors have begun to seek murder convictions for some doctors, claiming that such charges are appropriate for negligent care.
