Business as usual or fraud?

Article Abstract:

The FBI and the Office of the Inspector General of the Dept of Health and Human Services are increasing efforts to identify and prosecute fraudulent medical and laboratory services. Offering anything of value in exchange for Medicare referrals is considered illegal under the Medicare anti-kickback statute. Physicians can prevent fraud by examining contracts for lab services and consulting a health care attorney.
