Development of the Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet by a team led by Gary Selwyn at Los Alamos National Laboratory is discussed. Applications include the cleaning of semiconductor chips and chemical residues, as well as military applications for decontamination after bacteriological or chemical exposure or radioactive waste spills.
