Poor KSF progress puts careers at risk

Article Abstract:

Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) has taken a back seat in the NHS primarily due to budget deficits and reorganization. In some trusts KSF is in the early stages while in some it is not implemented at all, and in the absence of KSF, nurses might find it harder to access training and new job opportunities, leading to career stagnation.

Why are midwife numbers in crisis?; recent nurse recruitment successes have not been matched in maternity care

Article Abstract:

The numbers for midwifery have been stagnant in some areas and decreasing in other areas. According to the department of health's (DoH) London headquarters, 10,000 midwifes are required in the United Kingdom. The government needs to adopt a different approach for attracting midwifes.

The growing global epidemic of HIV/AIDS and its rapid spread in the UK and Europe should not be ignored. The UK initially disseminated information on HIV but this has now lapsed.
