Practical malaria tests promise results in remote regions

Article Abstract:

Scientists are trying their best to develop diagnostic tools that are practical and easy to use even in the remote parts and resource-poor settings for diagnosing malaria. The Geneva-based Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics' (FIND's) new test, called loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), is an inexpensive DNA test that any health worker with a heating resource and basic lab skills could use.
